    Can I recode 2 keyless remotes for a 2006 Passat 2.0T ?
One key works fine and is the original but the second key has not been coded to my car (acquired to replace the one I lost).

  2. Brenaye Newell says:

How are you suppose to stick the key in the driver door if it’s keyless ?????????? My key looks different but it’s a 2006 vw Passat

    • NorthCoast Keyless says:

Hi Brenaye, Thanks for reaching out here. This key is a flip key remote. The key will flip out of the side of the remote in order to access the door locks and/or ignition. If you have any other questions just let us know!

    • Riddle says:

If you have the different remote than the one pictured above where it’s just like a piece of plastic that you stick into the ignition switch, your going to see a little silver push plate near the bottom silver part of the key itself. This will slide out the black hardened plastic key from the fob.

  3. Leland Thomas says:

What key are you taking about my remote has black key in the inside back part of the remote start .Is this the key you taking about?

  4. Leland Thomas says:

What key are you taking about my remote has black key in the inside back part of the remote start .Is this the key you taking about? I didn’t make any other statment can you pls. Replay to my question?

    • Aodh McMenus says:

Leland, Yes, they have the “Smart Key” remote with the plastic key that pops out of the remote. I too, have this dilema. My daughter’s care only has one remote, lost the plastic key — all she has is a plastic key that has not been cut to fit the locks in the tumbler. So, with that information provided, how can I reprogram the key fob to unlock /lock the doors? It starts the car perfectly. Thank you SO VERY MUCH! I appreciate you.

      • Riddle says:

Unfortunately VW has a few different freq reaches for the fobs. The cheapest option if you don’t have an expensive obd2 diagnostic tablet scanner for the ignition system is to goto VW get the run down on the frequency for the fob you have and serial and look for a blank with fob online. And then call around to a local locksmith to see if they program car remotes and your in business.
I found a guy that works with
a-1 lock he charged me 20 because he was late to the job. And the fob itself cost me about 30 online.

  6. Sjoerd says:

I have a 2006 Passat (petrol; 2.0 liter) and one of the keys stopped functioning. I followed your programming instructions and, yes indeed, well within 5 minutes the dumb remote key worked again! great relieve. Thanks!
Ordering a new key of that model via the dealer would have cost me well over 200 Euros.
