Hello
I have a 1998 Z28 Chevrolet Camaro. It was built in Canada and exported to Japan. From there it was imported to New Zealand and that was when I purchased it. The Camaro has power door locks but no remote fobs. I think the fobs we need are the 1996-1999 3 button with trunk release P/N 16245100-29, or 16254103 but not having any fobs to check numbers I am not sure can you help?.
Thanks Neville
Hi Neville!
Thanks for reaching out here. What a trip that Z28 has been on! Your Camaro (if equipped with keyless entry) is compatible with either the 16254103 or the 16254100 remote. It just depends on whether the Camaro is equipped with an alarm (Panic button) or not. Either will work for you. However, if you purchase the 16254100 and your Camaro is not equipped with an alarm, that button just won’t work for you. You can check whether your vehicle is equipped with keyless entry by going thru the Steps 1-4 above. If the vehicle enters programming mode, then you’re good to go! Please reach out to us at [email protected] for further support.
Good luck!
