STEP-BY-STEP HOW TO PROGRAMMING INSTRUCTIONS

Minutes 5 minutes

  1. Prepare for Programming Procedure

    Use the door lock control switch to electronically UNLOCK the door locks.

  2. Enter Programming Mode

    TURN the ignition from the OFF to RUN position 4 times rapidly within 6 seconds, with the 4th turn ending in OFF. The vehicle will chime to signal successful entry into programming mode.

  3. Program Remote(s)

    Within 10 seconds, PRESS ANY button on the un-programmed remote. The vehicle will chime to signal successful programming of the remote.

  4. Program Additional Remote(s)

    REPEAT for any additional remotes to be programmed within 10 seconds.

  5. Exit Programming Mode

    EXIT programming mode by either turning the key back to the RUN position OR after 10 seconds of programming a new remote.

  6. Test Remote(s)

    TEST all remotes. Programming is complete.

STEP-BY-STEP HOW TO PROGRAMMING INSTRUCTIONS

Minutes 5 minutes

  1. Confirm First Programmed Key – Step 1

    INSERT the first previously programmed transponder key into the ignition.

  2. Confirm First Programmed Key – Step 2

    TURN the ignition from OFF to RUN. KEEP the key in the RUN position for 3 seconds.

  3. Confirm First Programmed Key – Step 3

    TURN the first previously programmed transponder key to the OFF position and REMOVE it from the ignition.

  4. Confirm Second Programmed Key – Step 1

    Within 10 seconds, INSERT the second previously programmed transponder key into the ignition.

  5. Confirm Second Programmed Key – Step 2

    TURN the ignition from OFF to RUN. KEEP the key in the RUN position for 3 seconds.

  6. Confirm Second Programmed Key – Step 3

    TURN the second previously programmed transponder key to the OFF position and REMOVE it from the ignition.

  7. Program Remote – Step 1

    Within 10 seconds, INSERT the NEW un-programmed transponder key into the ignition.

  8. Program Remote – Step 2

    TURN the ignition from OFF to RUN. KEEP the key in the RUN position for 3 seconds.

  9. Test Remotes

    TEST all remotes. Programming is complete.

Important:

  • Verify the following prior to following these instructions:
    • Your vehicle is equipped with keyless entry, and
    • You have a key fob remote that is compatible with your vehicle.
  • You must have 2 working transponder chip keys in order to program a new transponder without the assistance of a professional.
  • The key to be programming must be cut prior to beginning this programming procedure.
  • A MAXIMUM of 8 keys can be programmed to your vehicle. If you’ve had 8 programmed in the past, seek the assistance of a professional programmer.

Note: If your vehicle cannot enter programming mode, then you cannot program any remote.  This indicates either no keyless entry installed on the vehicle or a defective keyless entry receiver module.

STEP-BY-STEP HOW TO PROGRAMMING INSTRUCTIONS

Minutes 5 minutes

  1. Enter Programming Mode – Step 1

    Have two programmed PEPS smart keys inside the vehicle prior to beginning this procedure.

    PLACE the NEW un-programmed smart key in the pocket inside the center console utility compartment.

  2. Enter Programming Mode – Step 2

    PRESS the driver or passenger power door UNLOCK button 3 times.

  3. Enter Programming Mode – Step 3

    PRESS and RELEASE the brake pedal 1 time.

  4. Enter Programming Mode – Step 4

    PRESS the driver or passenger power door LOCK button 3 times.

  5. Enter Programming Mode – Step 5

    PRESS and RELEASE the brake pedal 1 time. The INDICATOR on the START/STOP button should begin to rapidly flash, indicating Programming Mode has been entered.

  6. Confirm Second Programmed Key – Step 3

    TURN the ignition OFF and REMOVE the second key from the ignition.

  7. Program New PEPS Smart Key Remote

    Within 1 minute, PRESS the START/STOP button on the vehicle. A message will be displayed on the message center indicating that the NEW smart key was programmed successfully.

  8. Exit Programming Mode

    REMOVE the smart key from the utility compartment pocket and PRESS the UNLOCK or LOCK button on the NEW programmed smart key to EXIT programming mode.

  9. Test Remotes

    TEST all remotes. Programming is complete.
